Hey folks! My name is Max Beard, 19 years old, from Englewood, Colorado. I work in Nutrition Services at Littleton Adventist Hospital as a Cook during most of year. During the off-season I attend Metropolitan State College of Denver. This will be my second year on Yeti RPM.

My 2007 season on the team was awesome! I learned a lot, and grew as a developing racer. For 2008 I want to increase my skills, work on my weaknesses, train hard, and have as much fun as I possibly can! I plan on racing downhill and four-cross at the Mountain States Cup races, and hope to make it to as many National (NMBS) races as I can.

Getting involved with mountain bike racing is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and has become my life passion. Being able to follow it on Yeti RPM is truly an honor!

Date of Birth: 11/29/1988

Nicknames: “TLG” (Tall Lanky Guy), and “Lurch”

Racing Class: Expert Men 19-24

Goals for the 2007 Season: Improve my riding skills, improve my confidence, stay injury free, and get good results.

Number of Years Riding: Mountain biking for about five years, racing for three years.

First Bike: A little Univega my dad bought for me back in the day!

Injuries: I have had pretty good luck with injuries. I have only broken my arm. (KNOCK ON WOOD!)

Inspiration: Cole Bangert winning the National Downhill Championship in 2007 was very inspiring! Seeing all these racers from Colorado moving up in the ranks makes me feel very proud! They were all once where we are now, so it shows that people can really do anything when they put their minds to it.

On the Ipod: I listen to just about everything. Whatever satisfies the mood I am in.
