Keith has been involved in mountain bike racing since 1984, and is the founder and manages all aspects of RPM. He has over 25 years of experience in the mountain bike racing world. 2005 marked the return to racing for Keith, and his plans for 2006 include moving up to Semi-Pro.His first mountain bike race experience came while at Fort Lewis College. Outdoor Pursuits had mountain bikes that as students could be checked out with a student ID.

Keith's good friend Scott Richards had a Ross Mountain Bike in those days, so Keith checked out a bike from Outdoor Pursuits and went to the test tracks. In Keith's own words, it was nearly the greatest thing he had ever experienced at that point of his life. They rode the test tracks and Keith crashed in these whoops, getting up and let out a great big "YEEEEEHAAAAAAA!!!"

Scott, who witnessed the crash, had eyes as big as golf balls and he asked "Are you OK ?"

"Damn straight !" Keith replied, and the next day went out and bought a Miyata Ride Runner.

Keith started racing in local NORBA events that summer, and in 1994 started coaching the Fort Lewis Cycling team. After winning three National Collegiate Mountain Bike Championship Titles and having little to no support from the college decided to start his own team, RPM, in 1996. With the support of his wife Taf and her family, RPM has sent several riders to the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS and has won three individual National Championship Titles.

At one point RPM had 27 racers and traveled all over the USA to as many as 20 events a season. As of the 2005 race season, the focus has been the down size of the team and concentration on developing juniors and young riders to become better racers. It has become a passion to help riders realize their potential.

The RPM race program would not be possible with out the support of Keith's wife and dogs and the awesome support of it's sponsors. In particular YETI CYCLES has been and continues to be an awesome supporter of our program. Without their support RPM would not be where it is today. Like RPM, YETI CYCLES is all about racing. They have gone so far out of their way to help RPM, we cannot begin to convey how vital they have been to our sucess. If you see us at the races come by and say hello and tell us about your racing adventures.
