Thursday the 30th we packed up and headed out. It snowed over night once again so we got an early start. We picked Bergen up in Vail and kept going on to the airport in Denver. We checked in with United and it was $135 one way per bike. We got on the plane only to be delayed for five hours. There was a mechanical.

The Darners; Taf, Keith, Louie, Flo, Shorty, Bronco and Edie, made a trip to the Fruita area for Taf’s Spring break. Many a mile of single track were had as we checked out the XC loop for the Rabbit Valley race in April. And man, is the Western Rim Trail going to be a delight for those XC racers! We rode almost all Fruita had to offer under perfect weather conditions.

March Gate Practice

Under partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid 40s, a few of the RPM riders got together to do some gate training here in Nathrop, Colorado. Many gates were had along with some good ole’ ranch burgers. After three hours of gates and shenanigans, we headed up to the mountain cross courses to do a little work on the start hill in preparation for the new gate.

Bootleg February 2008

There’s nothing like getting to listen to how a group ride went, when you were the one stuck back at home working. So, after 3 weeks of hearing about how cool the trails were, how fast everyone rode, how much Proctor can eat, it was finally our turn to get in on the fun. We pulled out of Darner’s after work on Thursday with 5 RPM riders and all our gear, and headed west...
