When a mix-up in qualifying placed semi pro RPM rider Rudy Unrau as the 27th place qualifier in the Pro class at the Sea Otter classic, Rudy was prepared to protest, as he would have been the 2nd place qualifier in his actual class. However, when he saw that he was pitted against legend Steve Peat in the first round, Rudy decided that it was the chance of a lifetime. Check out the video!

Word on the street is that Peaty gave Rudy a pair of Smith goggles, reportedy saying that Rudy earned 'em! How rad is THAT? Yeti President Chris Conroy looked on from the sidelines, very interested in how Rudy faired against the legend. This can only spell good things for him in the future!

Other than that, the event was filled with good times and great fun. RPM rider Evan Chute travelled to the event as part of the Spike Shooter crew, and raced Expert dual slalom. After barely making the cut with a 31st seed qualifying run, he was put out in the first round by the 2nd place qualifier.

Zach Saipe also came out and raced slalom and DH. He just missed qualifying for slalom, and although he didn't finish as well as he would have liked in DH he did get a feel for his new 303!
