March Gate Practice

Dateline... Sunday February 16 2008: under partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid 40s, a few of the RPM riders got together to do some gate training here in Nathrop, Colorado. Many gates were had along with some good ole’ ranch burgers. After three hours of gates and shenanigans, we headed up to the mountain cross courses to do a little work on the start hill in preparation for the new gate.

The plan is to have a gate that faces in both directions so that we can run both courses at the same time. We would like to run the beginners and sports on Original Course and the pro, semi pro and experts on Extra Crispy Course. After a 45 minute to one hour stint of moving a little bit of dirt around we headed back down to the house and fired the gate back up and made a few more passes before we had to shut it down so that Doc, Matt and Max could get back on the road.
