Winter Park Trestle DH #1

The Downhill Race at Winter Park last night went very well! There were almost 60 entrants I believe, so the whole race took about an hour with one minute intervals. The course was very fun, using their main DH trails "Zephyr" and "Boulevard," along with a fresh cut tree section towards the bottom. The course was very long as well, ranging from eight to ten minutes on average, with the fastest times just under eight minutes.

Our team had a very good turnout including Myself, Sam, Doc, Matt, and Evan. Sam won the Open Men Class with the second fastest time in the race! I won the 19-29 Men Class, which was very nice as well! Matt placed 6th respectively in the 13-15 Men class. Doc finished 4th ( Is that right Doc? ) in the 40+ Men Class, and Evan finished 4th in the 30+ Men class, catching a flat 3/4 of the way down the track.

This race was pretty cool! It was pretty well organized with what seemed to be no delays.  It puts something different out there, compared to our usual 3-4 day race weekends, which makes for some good variety. On top of that, the race entry fee including lift ticket was 35 dollars, no too bad considering the lift tickets are $25 alone!
